Obtained LED replacements for my SA-5460's lights, which also include an LED for the FM STEREO indicator light.
Doesn't seem to work, but hooking up a blue LED, I got a dim glow on a known stereo station. Checking the voltage, on the + wire, it's a steady 12v, not 6v. This does not change even when switching to AUX, etc., glanced at the schematic when I had a brief chance today, trying to understand what's occurring here. The schematic calls out 6.3v at this point.
Hooked an LED from the + wire to chassis, of course it lit.
So in your expert estimations, what's happening? Could it be that I'm just not in a good reception area, which I am definitely not (my garage)? I will say I have an old Kenwood tuner hooked up in the garage, and its stereo light works just fine.
When I finish with this receiver, I plan on putting it in my bonus room and attaching a GE antenna.
Thank you very much in advance. I scarcely listen to any radio and am quite the newbie when it comes to this aspect.
